We had entries in 16 different classes. Thursday July 9 was a practice day. On Thursday we also enjoyed $1 ice cream truck treats, including sundaes and floats, compliments of the event promoters.
Friday morning included 2 hours of practice, the driver’s meeting, and two food trucks available for lunch and demonstration event heats 1 and 2 beginning around 2 PM. Friday evening activities included the kart show, dinner and the 50/50 drawing for $400 won by Dale Fisher. Dinner included pork chops and pork kabobs, corn, mashed potatoes, pita bread and a variety of beverages – even root beer floats. A big thank you to our cook Steve Scrine and our servers Susan Brabant, Lori Duncaff and Diane Magnuson.
Heat 3, awards and the “kart cash” drawing occurred Saturday. Gary Young won the $1100 kart cash drawing that occurred in lieu of the restored kart giveaway.
Unfortunately, the live scoring and timing system for this event suffered a malfunction during heat 1 and part of heat 2. Therefore, finishing positions had to be determined verbally during the awards ceremony. A spreadsheet of class finishing positions is not attached but trophy presentation photographs are.
