SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The 2026 Mid-State VKA event went extremely well with a total of 107 entries which is the second largest total at this event.

Thursday practice day was a wonderful day with perfect weather. 

Friday we had a brief shower in the morning but we managed to stay on schedule with two heats of outstanding racing! We decided to forgo the kart show as the weather coming in looked bad, but we had a great pizza dinner at the track with a great time had by all!

We did get the kart show in Saturday morning but then unfortunately the rain and thunderstorms came in. We decided early to cancel the third heats as it was forecasted to rain until evening. We did get the awards done and people out soon.

I can’t thank Jon Clem, Bri, Taryn, Brandon, and others from the Mid-State crew that work very hard to help put on this event.
