 Post subject: Stearing shaft

I'm getting ready to get started on my winter resteration project a 1961 Rupp Super K this kart came with a 1/2 inch diameter stearing shaft should I upgrade it to a 5/8 inch shaft?

It depends on how you are going use your kart. If it is a show kart and you want to keep it original then you can keep the 1/2 inch shaft. The VKA guidelines address this issue. The guidelines are posted on the VKA website.
