Hello Blackhawk Owner at the LaFayette 2020 Event!

This is Joe Drabicki, the Blackhawk Kart Guru in Florida. I saw the photos on the event and your Blackhawk Poison Arrow is looking sweet. I have a few questions and comments for you.

Who owns that really nice Blackhawk that got an award at that show? Please come out of hiding and tell us about yourself. Where do you live? How did you get your kart? What engine is on there? If somebody reading this can, please alert the kart owner that I would like an audience with his eminence.

What was the award for? The photos are too small to read the award.

I see you have a new seat on there. Who made the seat? How much did it cost? Can other fellow Blackhawk owners get a seat made too from the same place? Will you please share the details with us?

Could the seat maker not find the correct gold piping for the seat? If not, we all understand, because it is probably not made anymore. Your seat looks great with the white piping because it goes very well with the white parts of the seat. I have seen a couple other Blackhawk Poison Arrows with red piping on their seats and they look good too.

I own eight Blackhawks and SIX of them need a new seat. I just started making the seat patterns for a seat (from my one kart that does have an original seat, including the headrest) so I can get a local upholstery shop to make seats for me. Maybe your seat maker can help out myself and a few other Blackhawk owners. If we can get seats from your source, maybe I won't need to make patterns. I will make a pattern for the headrest at minimum, since your kart does not have one.

I look forward to your response.

Kind Regards,

Joe

The award was for Rear Restored. The next VKA FirsTurn will have owner’s name and engine.

Hello Rolf!

Thank you for the clarification on what award he won. I am not a VKA member, so I won't be able to see the FirsTurn newsletter to catch his name and engine. I would like to join one day, but I want to get a couple karts restored first, then I will become a member and plan on attending a few events. It would be awesome to learn his name and meet him at an event one day.

The biggest lingering mystery is the information about his new seat on his kart. That is what all restoring Blackhawk owners want to know. That is the pot of gold we want a leprechaun to share. Hmmm... Maybe I should paint one of my Blackhawks gold or green. :)

Kind Regards,

Joe
