Post subject:  2017 Rock Island Grand Prix

Sept. 1,2,3. Same classes as last year:

Sportsman: Rear engine and straight front axle sidewinder kart with single engine up to 135cc.

Mac: Any vintage kart 1979 or older with a single American fan cooled engine up to 100cc.

Open class: Any single or dual vintage kart and engine(s) up to 270cc.

Entry is $75. After Aug.18 it goes up to $100. Go on RIGP website and print out mail in form or you can register online.

Vintage Karts
Rules: This is a gentlemen’s race. There will be no weighing and no tech.
Age: Ages 15 and up determined by age on race weekend.
Classes: Three classes have been specified for Vintage karts.
1) A Class: Straight front axle karts, any rear engine kart, Single engine only, MC101 or
WB 820 OK.
2) Mac Class: All fan cooled Mc's, WB,PP, etc.; 80cc to 100cc; Single engine only.
3) Open Class; All foreign engines 100cc 135cc; All dual engine karts.

Gary, What you got from the site is pretty vague, what I posted was to try to clarify.RIGP does not care what we do, we are our rules,etc. I'm just a go between for Questions that have been asked. If anyone disagrees with what I posted please let me know. Not that many of us go but for someone that is new or wants to go, the website does not really have enough info for vintage.If there is anything we want on there for next year I need to let Roger know way ahead of time.

I am not disagreeing with you...just that this is from their site....

I guess it is, run what ya brung,,,like you say,,the rules for Vintage are so anyone with a Vintage kart can run....

again,,I just go to have fun,,,,

Just a reminder: You need to register online or mail in a registration. They frown on it if you don't and a comment was made by Roger last last year that if anyone doesn't they will pay double.Also transponders are required, yours or a rental from the event.
